Confederate Home, Charleston, SC A home for Confederate widows until the 1950s, Cummings & McCrady, Inc. was involved in its restoration. Work included roof repairs involving pattern slate shingles and a built in cornice gutter, followed by facade rehabilitation and piazza restoration. Interior work included Drawing Room modifications. Project work was supported by a grant from the South Carolina Department of Archives and History. The building remained in operation during construction and was awarded a Carolopolis Award for restoration.
