First Baptist Church, Hartsville, SC
First Baptist Church asked
Cummings & McCrady, Inc. to master plan their site to include a
new fellowship hall, a new day school, additional Sunday school rooms,
and a new youth center without disturbing the graveyard. The complete
renovation of the unused National Historic Landmark sanctuary was an
important aspect of the project planning as was increased parking to
accommodate demand. Phase I includes classroom space for the day school,
classrooms for the Sunday school, and the restoration of the old sanctuary.
The old sanctuary will be used for informal Sunday evening worship.
The lower level of the old sanctuary is being remodeled as a youth center.
